About Scott Davidson

Back to the beginnings of his sportswriting career. Such is the case for Scott Davidson, who serves as a Sports Writer for inkfreenews.com.

Davidson began his journalism career in 1988 as a reporter for The Papers Incorporated in Milford, the owners of inkfreenews.com.

The Ball State University graduate and Elkhart native spent six years covering high school sports in Kosciusko County, including three as the Sports Editor of the Times-Union from 1991-94.

Davidson spent the last 10 years as a sportswriter for the South Bend Tribune. His prep responsibilities there included covering volleyball, girls basketball and softball as his three beats. Davidson’s time at the Tribune, which also included a stint from 1996-2000, included coverage of several state championship teams. Among those were the 2007 South Bend Washington girls basketball team, featuring National Player of the Year and current Notre Dame star Skylar Diggins, the 2010 Penn volleyball team and the 1999 Penn softball squad.

Davidson, a 1984 Elkhart Memorial product, also covered high school sports throughout the Northern Lakes Conference as a member of the Goshen News sports staff from 1994-96 and again from 2000-2001.

Davidson, a self-described sports fanatic, is an avid New York Yankees fan and also enjoys playing tennis.
