Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:03 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, North First Street and West Columbia Street, Pierceton. Driver: Angel M. Roberts, 22, South Washington Street, Pierceton. Roberts’ vehicle had a spare tire on it and was pulling to the right. It pulled to the right and hit two parked vehicles. Damage: Up to $50,000.
- 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, EMS B61 Lane, south of EMS B61D Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Emma M. Symons, 25, South Oak Street, Albion. A bee landed on Symons. She went off the roadway to the right and her vehicle hit a sign. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 3:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, East CR 350N, south of North CR 100E, Warsaw. Drivers: Kenneth J. Meyer, 72, East CR 450N, Leesburg; and Curtis L. Jefferson, 45, Montague Road, Rockford, Ill. Meyer’s vehicle hit Jefferson’s. Damage: Up to $50,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 12:46 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, CR 200W and West Olson Road, Rochester. Driver: Richard Gardner, 68, Rochester. He knocked the mirror off his vehicle, and it hit another vehicle.
- 9:54 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, CR 800N, Culver. Driver: Shawna Eckert, 50, Culver. Eckert backed into another vehicle.
- 9:02 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, Drivers: Cassie Kuhn, 37, Mentone; and Johanna Aguilera, 20, Akron. The drivers backed into each other.
- 10:04 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, SR 17, Kewanna. Driver: Jeffrey Stough, 54, Lucerne. Stough was towing a trailer with an oversized load that struck a concrete barrier. The impact caused the combine on the trailer to roll on its side.
- 9:49 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, East SR 14, Akron. Driver: Joshua Young, 38, Silver Lake. Young’s vehicle went off the road and hit a fence.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 4:40 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, US 31 and 11th Road, Plymouth. Drivers: Mary Miller, 18, Goshen; and Verne Searer, 76, Elkhart. Miller complained of pain and suffered a possible injury. She was taken by Plymouth EMS to an area hospital. Searer complained of pain but refused transport by the EMS. Miller was attempting to turn left onto 11th Road and failed to yield the right of way to Searer’s vehicle.
