Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 8:04 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, East CR 400S, south of South Packerton Road, Warsaw. Driver: Tracy E. Smith, 20, West CR 1300S, Silver Lake. Smith swerved to miss a deer, and her vehicle went into a cornfield. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, West CR 100S, west of South CR 650W, Etna Green. Drivers: Hannah L. Rogers, 36, EMS C28 Lane, Warsaw; and Dustin M. Helblig, 31, North Brook Boulevard, Warsaw. Helblig hit his brakes, and Rogers couldn’t stop in time. Her vehicle hit his. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 12:09 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, South Huntington Street, north of East Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Owen M. Garrison, 16, CR 27, New Paris; and Kevin C. Walbridge, 62, East Pickwick Park Drive, Syracuse. Garrison said he wasn’t paying attention, and the light was red. He couldn’t stop at the red light and his vehicle hit Walbridge’s. Walbridge had a laceration with minor bleeding. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, SR 110 and CR 150W, Rochester. Driver: Robert D. Cooper, 64, Tippecanoe. A deer ran into the side of Cooper’s work truck.
- 3:26 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, SR 25 and CR 300S, Rochester. Driver: Daniel E. Hill, 69, Rochester. Hill reported a Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban struck his vehicle and drove off.
- 1:34 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, US 31 and CR 300S, Rochester. Drivers: Tina M. Boswell, 59, Silver Lake; and Dorothy J. Clauson, 87, Rochester, One of the women complained of rib pain. No further information was available.
