Area Accident Reports
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, North Huntington Street, north of East Main Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Mara L. Lumbard, 34, Prairie Drive, Syracuse; and Amberly D. Desomer, 45, EMS D23 Lane, Syracuse. Lumbard was traveling north on North Huntington Street when she rear-ended Desomer’s vehicle. Desomer was checked by medics at the scene for neck pain. Damage under $750.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 6:54 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, Husky Trail, south of Mariners Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Jessica L. Paulus, 29, East Lakeview Trail, Leesburg. Paulus’ vehicle left the roadway and hit a street sign south of the intersection at Husky Trail and Mariners Drive. Medics were called to the scene to evaluate Paulus, who was suffering from low blood sugar. Damage up to $5,000.
- 2:37 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, West Bell Drive, east of Rainbow Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Andrew A. French, 58, Grace Village Drive 111, Winona Lake; and Heather E. Miller, 34, South Henry Street, Milford. French was entering West Bell Drive from a parking lot when he entered Miller’s path of travel. French complained of chest pain and was checked by medics at the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 6:47 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, CR 700N and CR 450W, Rochester. Drivers: Daniel Compton, 34, Culver; and Penny E. Howard, 39, Rochester. Compton reported Howard drove her vehicle out in front of him, causing him to drive off the road and hit a pole.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, US 31 and SR 10. Drivers: Dorcus C. Stump, 33, Nappanee; and Kenneth Michaels, 68, Mishawaka. Stump, Michaels and a passenger in Michaels’ vehicle complained of pain and were taken to an area hospital for further assessment. Stump failed to yield the right-of-way to Michaels’ vehicle at the intersection, causing both vehicles to collide in a right angle and leave the roadway.
