Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 8:57 p.m. Sunday, July 24, East Market Street, east of Hickory Street, Warsaw. Driver: Alexis Tlahuextl-Zaca, 18, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Tlahuextl-Zaca said he was distracted by looking at something on his passenger’s phone. His vehicle then hit a parked vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 8:33 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 3358 Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: John C. Hollingsworth, 35, Grace Avenue, Fort Wayne; and Elizabeth D. Jones, 61, South CR 500E, Pierceton. Hollingsworth’s vehicle backed into Jones’. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 9:57 p.m. Friday, July 22, East Center Street and US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert S. Bundrick, 55, East CR 650N, Marion; and Andreas J. Sauer, 28, North 98th Street, Milwaukee, Wis. Bundrick said he thought his light had turned green. He entered the intersection, and his vehicle and Sauer’s collided. A passenger in Sauer’s vehicle was checked out on scene. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 4:18 p.m. Friday, July 22, North SR 15 and East Main Street, Warsaw. Kyle P. Bruich, 34, Madison, Tenn. Bruich was crossing North SR 15. The walking signal was active. He was struck by a vehicle, which then left the scene. Bruich was checked out by medics. Damage: Up to $2,500.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 8:06 a.m. Sunday, July 24, CR 50, west of CR 11. Driver: Lyndon Yoder, 31, Nappanee. Injured: Abigail Yoder, 31, Nappanee, and Aubrey Yoder, 11, Nappanee, both complained of neck pain; and Hailey Yoder, 9, Nappanee, an abrasion to the arm. All three were taken to Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Lyndon Yoder, was driving east on CR 50 when his vehicle went off the north side of CR 50 and overturned. He was cited for speeds too fast for weather conditions.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 3:57 a.m. Monday, July 25, West SR 14 and CR 500W, Rochester. Driver: Constancia M. Pena, 26, Argos. Hit deer.
- 9:44 p.m. Saturday, July 23, US 31 and SR 14. Driver: Charles S. Hill II, 46, Mishawaka. Hit deer.
- 9:49 a.m. Saturday, July 23, US 31 and CR 700N, Rochester. Driver: Anne M. Good, 31, Argos. Good’s vehicle was involved in a collision. She reportedly struck her head.
- 5:23 a.m. Friday, July 22, North Old US 31, Rochester. Driver: Frederick C. Long, Rochester. Hit deer.
- 9:56 p.m. Thursday, July 21, SR 14 and A Street. Driver: Kayla Shultz, no age or address provided. Hit deer.
Marshall County
- 3:44 p.m. Thursday, July 21, US 31 and SR 10, Argos. Drivers; Michael Turner, 35, Muncie; and Nancy Powell, 62, Argos. Powell was southbound on US 31, turning east onto SR 10 when his vehicle struck Turner’s northbound vehicle. Turner’s vehicle went off the east side of the road. The Powell vehicle rolled once onto its passenger side before coming to rest on its wheels. Both drivers and front passengers in both vehicles were taken to Plymouth hospital for further treatment.
