Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 7:44 a.m. Thursday, July 21, East Center Street and SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Sheree R. Moser, 62, West Garro Street, Plymouth; and Darla J. Rifer, 60, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Moser hit Rifer’s while backing up. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 5:49 a.m. Thursday, July 21, East Fort Wayne Street and North Harrison Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lennex A. Henley, 24, Frontage Road, Warsaw; and John A. Culbertson, 51, East CR 300S, Warsaw. Henley didn’t see Culbertson’s vehicle. He pulled out and collided with Culbertson’s vehicle. Damage: Up to $25,000.
- 5:27 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, SR 15, south of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Edwin J. Condinho, 41, Ninth Street, Winona Lake; and Allison J. Redding, 44, Pink Magnolia Drive, Winona Lake. Condinho attempted to stop his vehicle behind Redding’s, but he was following too closely and his brake line broke. His vehicle hit the back of Redding’s. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 12:58 p.m. Monday, July 18, 118 W. Main St., Warsaw. Driver: Timothy M. McLaughlin, 60, North Manhattan Avenue, Muncie. McLaughlin struck a parked vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 11:54 p.m. Saturday, July 16, East Clark Street, east of North Park Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Shawn D. Hale, 22, West Hummingbird Drive, Mentone. Hale initially said he had found a friend of his, Kenyan C. Bennett, 24, Warsaw, lying in the roadway when he was driving to his house. Later it was discovered that Hale had seen Bennett walking and asked him to jump on his vehicle to drive him to his house. It was discovered via surveillance video that Hale was traveling at a high rate of speed and Bennett fell off the back of his vehicle, causing him to have a head injury. Bennett was flown to a hospital for treatment. Hale was arrested on a charge of criminal recklessness with a motor vehicle causing serious bodily injury. Damage: Under $750.
