Warsaw Man Accused Of Breaking into Woman’s Residence
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly breaking into a home to speak with a woman who had an active protection order against him.
Patrick Alan Bollinger, 22, 4192 N. Runkle Drive, Warsaw, is charged with burglary, a level 4 felony; obstruction of justice, a level 5 felony; residential entry and intimidation, both level 6 felonies; invasion of privacy and domestic battery, both class A misdemeanors; and criminal mischief, a class B misdemeanor.
On July 8, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a domestic dispute at a residence. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer saw Bollinger standing by a sliding glass patio door to the home. Bollinger said he was at the residence to speak with a woman who lived there. The officer then spoke with the woman about the incident.
According to court documents, the woman said she was sleeping in her bedroom when she awoke to a noise coming from the bathroom. When she looked toward the bathroom door, she saw Bollinger standing in the doorway. The woman told the officer that Bollinger did not live at the home and was not invited to the residence.
Bollinger sat on the edge of the bed next to her and told the woman he was going to kill her. While pinning her against a bedroom wall, Bollinger told the woman that she was also going to “deny everything you said.” This refers to a pending domestic violence case in which Bollinger is accused of allegedly battering the woman.
Bollinger told the woman he was better now and wouldn’t hurt her again. The woman attempted to keep Bollinger calm until he began to yell.
Bollinger also told the woman he made entry into her home by using a screwdriver and a steak knife. The woman was able to talk Bollinger into letting her use the bathroom alone; when he did so, the woman called 911. Bollinger forced his way into the locked bathroom door and the woman convinced him to go on a walk outside.
Once outside, the woman took the screwdriver out of Bollinger’s pocket and locked him out of the home until police arrived. The officer noticed the chain latch was missing from the residence’s front door and saw pry marks consistent with a screwdriver being used to make entry.
Bollinger told the officer he came to the residence unannounced to speak with the woman. He denied forcing entry into the home and said the woman answered the door to speak with him. Bollinger also admitted to being aware of an active protection order prohibiting him from contacting the woman. The protection order was served on June 30.
Upon being told he was going to jail, Bollinger said, “All I can say is it was worth it.”
At the time of this case, Bollinger was released on bond for a pending misdemeanor domestic battery case. The bond was revoked on July 8, pending further court action. For this case, Bollinger was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 8.
