Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:35 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, South CR 800W, near West CR 100S, Warsaw. Drivers: Vianca V. Martinez, 31, East Water Street, Akron; and Alan D. Shepherd, 56, North SR 25, Mentone. Martinez was traveling east on CR 100S and did not see the CR 800W intersection stop sign in time. Martinez’s vehicle entered Shepherd’s path of travel. Shepherd complained of chest pain but refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
- 10:22 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, South CR 400E, north of East CR 600S, Warsaw. Driver: Andrew S. Combs, 25, North Mill Street, North Manchester. Combs was traveling south on South CR 400E when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
- 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, North SR 19, south of West CR 1100N, Nappanee. Drivers: Leighton D. Fields, 26, North Allen Street, Wabash; and Cari A. Rockefeller, 31, West Clearwater Drive, Warsaw. Fields was traveling south on SR 19 when Rockefeller began slowing for traffic. This resulted in Fields’ vehicle rear-ending Rockefeller’s. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 6:28 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, East Old Road 30, east of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Driver: Dewey D. Sheets, 68, West CR 750N, Columbia City. Sheets was traveling west on Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:e
- 12:47 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, East Fort Wayne Street, near Cook Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Donna J. Helton, 87, East CR 450N, Warsaw; and Ethan M. Heath, 19, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Helton was traveling south on Cook Street and did not see any traffic on East Fort Wayne Street when she entered Heath’s path of travel. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:27 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, East Fort Wayne Street, near North Lindberg Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sondra J. Dicken, 86, Lakewood Hills Drive, Warsaw; and Louise Hopkins, 80, North Colfax Street, Warsaw. Dicken was traveling south on North Lindberg Street when she ran a stop sign and entered Hopkins’ path of travel. Both Dicken and Hopkins complained of chest pain following the accident. Dicken was checked at the scene and Hopkins said she may go to the hospital later. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:16 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, East Market Street, west of Lincoln Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Darwin E. Call, 78, East Mary Mac Street, Warsaw; and Wyatt E. Klinger, 18, East Wooster Road Lot 35, Pierceton. Call was backing his vehicle onto East Market Street from an alleyway to park his vehicle when he hit Klinger’s vehicle. Klinger was traveling east on East Market Street. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 5:23 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 832 E. Center St., Warsaw. Drivers: Craig A. Summers, 38, West Main Street, Warsaw; and Damon N. Shepherd, 37, North CR 250W, Columbia City. Summers was backing his vehicle from a parking space when he hit Shepherd’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 4:47 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 320 N. McKinley St., Warsaw. Drivers: Jeffrey A. Hall, 61, North Memory Lane, Warsaw; and Joyce A. Wise, 74, Rattington Circle, Warsaw. Hall was backing his vehicle from a parking space when he hit Wise’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 1:15 p.m. Monday, July 11, 644 Park Ave., Winona Lake. Drivers: Melissa M. Matthews, 33, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw; and Sally L. Shields, 71, Ross Drive, Marion. Matthews was backing her vehicle from a parking space when she hit Shields’ vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
