Pro-Choice Protest Attracts Two Dozen In Warsaw
Staff Report
WARSAW – About two dozen people protested the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling that overturns Roe v. Wade, which removes constitutional protections for abortion.
The protest remained peaceful and attracted numerous honks from motorists passing along the corner of Buffalo and Center streets adjacent to the Kosciusko County Courthouse.
The court’s decision on Friday, June 24, sends the authority to regulate abortion to the states.
States are moving swiftly to add new restrictions. Indiana state lawmakers will meet on July 6 in a special session that is now expected to consider new abortion restrictions in addition to a proposed tax rebate check.
