Barn Northeast Of Pierceton Destroyed By Fire

PIERCETON — A barn northeast of Pierceton was destroyed in a fire on Friday, June 24.
Just before 4:30 p.m., Pierceton Fire Department responded to a fully engulfed barn fire at 322 N. 900E. The property is just south of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park. According to Kosciusko County Beacon GIS, the barn is owned by Joseph and Patricia Stump.
The barn fire was reported extinguished around 5:20 p.m.
North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory and Winona Lake Fire Department were called for full assists. Richland Township Fire Department, Larwill, was dispatched to the fire for tanker assist. Plain Township Fire Department and Turkey Creek Fire Territory were placed on standby for North Webster.
Also assisting at the scene were Lutheran EMS and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
This is the second barn fire this week that Pierceton Fire Department has responded to. The first occurred on June 21 on East CR 150N.
