WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly molesting a child on multiple occasions.
Andrew David Alcala, 34, 1630 Lilac Lane, Warsaw, is charged with child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor, both level 4 felonies.
On June 14, the Warsaw Police Department received a child molestation report. A child reported that Alcala inappropriately touched them. That same day, a Warsaw detective spoke with the child about the incident.
According to court documents, the child said that on multiple occasions in the past, Alcala had inappropriately touched them. The child said the inappropriate activity occurred over a span of four years.
The detective then spoke with Alcala, who recalled two occasions where his hand went inside the child’s clothing, near their genital area, while he was tickling them. Alcala told the detective those incidents were not intentional and occurred while they were playing with the child. Alcala admitted that he felt the child was attractive when they were between 16 and 17 years old.
Alcala was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on June 14, with a $30,250 surety and cash bond.
