SYRACUSE — More than 200 attended the annual Syracuse Property Owners Association and Wawasee Property Owners Association Family Breakfast Saturday, June 11, at Oakwood Resort.
The time was spent getting reacquainted with neighbors around both lakes, learning about programs offered in the community, having balloon characters made and getting an up close and personal look at the fire equipment that protects their property.
Attendees of the breakfast were pleased to see the return of the Turkey Creek Fire Territory’s ladder truck, and lined up to take a “ride” up above the treetops. Many also took the opportunity to look at the equipment and ask questions. The children enjoyed not only walking through the ambulance and equipment truck, but also sitting in the department’s airboat and doing a little pretend steering of the boat.
Booths were set up by Habitat for Humanity, Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation, Chautauqua Wawasee, and Friends of the Syracuse Public Library. The Wawasee Flotilla Committee provided various styles of the 2022 Wawasee Flotilla attire for purchase or to order from the Flotilla store.
