Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:07 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, South County Farm Road, south of East CR 1000S, Silver Lake. Driver: Lucinda J. Hackworth, 57, North Lake Street, Warsaw. Hackworth was traveling south on County Farm Road when a deer entered the roadway. Hackworth complained of pain to her elbow and lower arm area after the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 11:26 p.m. Monday, June 13, North CR 325E, south of East CR 300N, Warsaw. Driver: Robert L. Conrad, 66, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw. Conrad was traveling north on CR 325E when his vehicle hit a branch in the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 5:59 p.m. Monday, June 13, North SR 15, near Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Jennifer A. Pruitt, 50, North CR 100E, Warsaw; and Margaret D. Dawson, 44, North CR 200W, Warsaw. Pruitt’s vehicle rear-ended Dawson’s. Damage up to $2,500.
- 3:29 p.m. Monday, June 13, West Winona Avenue, near South Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Danny R. Patrick, 55, Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend; and April D. Hilliard, 43, Rosemont Avenue, Warsaw. Patrick attempted to back his vehicle to allow a semi to turn when he backed into Hilliard’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:47 a.m. Monday, June 13, US 30, east of SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Rafael A. Woods, 52, Warsaw Street, Fort Wayne; and Lloyd P. Feltner, 52, East Mapes Road, Kendallville. Woods was traveling east on US 30 in a semi pulling a box van trailer when he rear-ended the trailer of Feltner’s vehicle. The impact pushed Woods’ cab into the front right corner of the trailer his vehicle was pulling. The cab of Woods’ vehicle then separated from the semi’s frame. Woods had to be extricated from his vehicle by Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire personnel. Woods was treated on scene by Lutheran EMS and then flown by helicopter to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Woods sustained a broken finger, shattered pelvis, and dislocated hip. At Memorial Hospital, Woods told officers he saw traffic was slowing and was unable to get stopped in time. Feltner advised traffic was backed up due to an upcoming lane closure. Feltner was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a complaint of chest pain. Both drivers consented to legal blood draws for drugs and alcohol. Results are pending at this time. Damage up to $100,000.
