Zimmer Biomet Establishes Grant For Training Opportunities
News Release
WARSAW – Zimmer Biomet contributed $1.25 million to establish a first-of-its-kind grant, the Fellowship Education Improvement and Innovation (FEII) Grant, aimed at incentivizing fellowship programs to provide new and unique training opportunities.
Zimmer Biomet partnered with the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) as the grant’s founding sponsor. It was founded on a shared interest in standardizing fellowship training that advances efficient, optimized and equitable patient care powered by research and data and will be targeted to more than 100 eligible fellowship programs across the country.
The goal of the FEII grant is to take fellows from participating institutions beyond technical skills training to address critical issues impacting patient outcomes and quality of care.
The grant will be awarded to fellowship programs whose curricula include a focus on patient optimization, treating high-risk/at-risk patients, promoting equitable care across diverse patient populations, understanding site of care impacts and adopting registry-based research and advanced technologies in joint arthroplasty.
