W. Dean Ealey — UPDATED
Pastor W. Dean Ealey, co-founder and longtime pastor of Early Apostolic Bible Training Center, died at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
She was 69 years old and would’ve preferred that this paragraph read “Pastor Dean has left the building!”
A play on words, Dean often compared the body to a building, “…simply a place to shelter the soul.”
Born June 9, 1952 outside Martin, Ky., Dean was the daughter of Jay Hall and Gilva (Newsome) Morrissette. She spent her formative years in Kentucky, moving to Kosciusko County as a teenager.
Dean was a giving, selfless person who truly cared about others and about helping them to find the Lord. As a Pastor, she lead services at EABTC but also sang and helped other churches around the area. She had a natural ability to meet others at their level, sometimes in the church but also while fishing, riding horses and socializing- all things she enjoyed. She also enjoyed camping, driving her mustang convertible and, most of all, time spent with her family.
She was united in marriage to Sammy Ealey Feb.13, 1970. They spent more than 42 years together before his passing in 2012. They enjoyed many of the same things — fishing, the outdoors, family vacations and ministering to others.
In addition to Sammy, those who preceded her into Paradise include a grandson, Lance, and three siblings; sisters Irene Diamond and Pat Moore; brother, Lucky Hall; and her parents.
Those who survive with memories to cherish, strong faith and family to uphold them include two daughters; Michelle Lee Worley, Warsaw and Creassia (Walter, Jr.) Blackburn, Mentone; a grandson, Blake (Kalee) Bays and a great-grandson, Samuel “Sammy” Bays; a brother, Stoney Hall; a sister, Star (Ted) McKenzie; an honorary mother, Mary Kendrick; and a special uncle, Cornelius “Whitey” (Judy) Newsome.
A three-day Revival and Life Celebration will take place at Early Apostolic Bible Training Center, 6800 IN-15, Claypool. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, and continue until the Monday morning service. Services will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. At 11 a.m. Monday, Creassia Blackburn will minister in celebration of Dean’s salvation. Final committal will take place at Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery following the services.
Memorial gifts may be given to EABTC at the above address or with envelopes available at the service. Written condolences may be left at www.TitusFuneralHome.com
