Via Credit Union Grant Supports Project At Jefferson Elementary
Press Release
WARSAW — Jefferson Elementary School staff would like to thank Via Credit Union for sponsoring a third-grade Project Based Learning unit called “Cargo Connect” during the 2021-22 school year.
ViaCU provided funds to purchase Lego materials, curriculum, and kits to help students engage in a rich and immersive experience focused on community and transportation needs.
Throughout this project, students engaged in research, writing, and the engineering process. Students developed critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills. Overall, this was an incredible project that helped enrich Jefferson students’ learning experience.
The project culminated in a final community showcase. ViaCU sponsors attended the event as well as members from around the community. Students had the opportunity to share their knowledge with an audience.
“We are proud to support this hands-on project that taught students many new skills,” said Michelle Peterson, vice-president of marketing at ViaCU. “The community showcase event allowed attendees to see how each student group uniquely built and presented what they learned about supply chains.”
Josh Wall, Jefferson Elementary principal, would like to thank Via Credit Union for their sponsorship and partnership that supports the WCS mission and vision to inspire, equip, and enrich the lives of students K-6.
