Douglas Harold Johnson
Douglas Harold Johnson, 79, passed away on March 21, 2022, at George C. Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale, Fla.
He was born on Aug. 19, 1942, in Michigan City.
He was a retired Postmaster who in his spare time enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, the VFW post 857 in Fort Wayne, the Fraternal Order of Eagles aerie 248 and the National Association of Postmasters of the Unites States.
Doug was preceded in death by his father: Harold Paschack; mother: Valerie Bienas Johnson; step-father: Dr. Alvin L. Johnson; and brother: Gregory Johnson. He is survived by his wife: Nancy Johnson, who he has shared the last 53 years of his life with; his son: Derek S. (Allison) Johnson; daughter: Nicole L. (Eric) Smith; grandchildren: Royce W. Smith and Kennedy N. Smith; and his siblings: Alvin Johnson Jr. (Jude) and Denise Lloyd. Doug also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Doug’s name to the George C. Forsythe Hospice House, located at 450 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.
