Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 7:45 a.m. Thursday, March 24, East US 30, south of South SR 13, Pierceton. Drivers: Teresa L. Carpenter, 61, North CR 900E, Pierceton; and Phyllis A. Stuerzenberger, 63, Kercheval Drive, Fort Wayne. Carpenter was traveling south on South SR 13 and entered the intersection of East US 30. She did not notice Stuerzenberger’s vehicle starting into the intersection and a collision occurred. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 3:42 a.m. Thursday, March 24, East Main Street, south of South CR 700W, Burket. Driver: Megan V. Orozco Cortez, 26, East Oak Pointe Crossing, Warsaw. Orozco Cortez was traveling north on CR 700W when a deer entered the roadway. To avoid a collision, Orozco Cortez swerved her vehicle. This caused her vehicle to leave the roadway and hit a Nipsco utility pole. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, East CR 1300N, west of North CR 300E, Syracuse. Drivers: Colten R. Edgar, 18, Placidview Lane, Milford; and Cade C. Beer, 16, West CR 1100N, Milford. Edgar was traveling west on East CR 1300N when he rear-ended Beer’s vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 7:32 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 3328 E. Center St., Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A vehicle registered to Matthew R. Doran, Trevor, Wis., was parked when it sustained damage form an unknown driver. Damage up to $2,500.
- 8:48 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, East Clark Street, west of North Cook Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kristina A. Collier, 28, East Market Street, Warsaw; and Patrick A. Burchett, 30, Anchorage Road 79, Warsaw. Collier’s and Burchett’s vehicles collided. Collier complained of pain to her entire body but refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $2,500.
