Local Art Groups Present Unique ‘Requiem For the Living’ March 27
WARSAW — Lakeland Community Choir, Grace Lancer Chorus and musicians from the Wagon Wheel Symphony of the Lakes will present Dan Forrest’s “Requiem for the Living” at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 27, in the Warsaw Performing Arts Center.
They will be joined by tenor soloist Landon Staley, mezzo soprano soloist Cassandra Petre and organist Paul Satre. The Lakeland Youth Chorale and Bremen Children’s Choir will also offer several selections.
“Requiem” was originally scheduled for performance in the spring of 2020. Its message is even more powerful and necessary after two turbulent years, according to Ardis Faber, artistic director for the Lakeland Community Choir.
This piece, he said, is “a musical offering of a prayer for rest, hope, light, truth and peace to our community, who are living and grieving the loss of loved ones or friends. This message is for the living as much as for the deceased.”
Tickets are $12 and are available for purchase at www.classicartsprograms.com/tickets.
