MENTONE — Railroad tracks running through Mentone have been repaired.
Norfolk Southern railroad and the Indiana Department of Transportation filled in gaps with asphalt along the tracks that run across SR 25 and SR 19 in town on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
Town leaders had previously expressed concerns about the condition of the crossings. The crossings were rough enough that at least a few vehicles sustained flat tires.
Mentone Town Council Member Tim Croy told InkFreeNews he believes additional repairs will be made once the weather gets warmer.
He also thanked people for contacting the railroad about the tracks’ condition.
