Etna Green Man Arrested For Domestic Battery
Staff Report
ETNA GREEN — An Etna Green man was recently arrested after allegedly battering a woman who has a no-contact order against him.
Dalton Ray Fugate, 26, 210 S. Main St., Etna Green, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery and invasion of privacy, both class A misdemeanors.
On Jan. 13, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a location in Etna Green regarding an individual banging on doors at a home. At the time of the incident, there was an active no-contact order between Fugate and the woman whose home he was at.
According to court documents, the deputy spoke with the woman about the incident. The woman said she heard knocking on her residence’s front door. When she opened the door, Fugate allegedly forced his way into the home by pushing through the partially opened door. Fugate began to argue with the woman and grabbed her by the hair on the back of her head, forcing her head downward.
The woman told the deputy she believed Fugate was intoxicated when the incident took place. The deputy noticed the woman had marks under her right eye and a small laceration on her left hand.
As the deputy was leaving the home, he noticed Fugate sleeping in the back of the woman’s vehicle. The deputy noticed that Fugate appeared to be intoxicated.
Fugate said he was aware of the no-contact order but needed some of his items that were in the home. Initially, Fugate told the deputy there was no physical altercation, then later said the woman punched him in the face several times. The deputy noticed no marks on Fugate’s face.
At the time of this case, Fugate was on pretrial release for intimidation with a deadly weapon and domestic battery. The victim in that case is the woman who has a no-contact order against him.
Fugate also has prior convictions for residential entry, intimidation, and criminal trespass.
For this case, Fugate was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 2.
