WARSAW — Close to 50 Zimmer Biomet employees in Warsaw have recently lost their jobs.
A spokesperson for Zimmer Biomet confirmed that there had recently been some reductions in staff and said the pandemic continues to make an impact on business decisions.
“As a necessary response to the ongoing pressure that COVID-19 has put on our business, we made the difficult decision to eliminate some roles across the organization. The vast majority of our team members have not been impacted and fewer than 50 Warsaw-based employees were affected,” said Monica Kendrick, vice president of product communications and philanthropy in Warsaw.
“We will continue to invest in the business for growth, but against an updated operating budget given the duration of COVID impact,” she said.
She said that “despite the ongoing challenges the pandemic has placed on our business, we remain confident in our overall strategy and our ability to execute as we continue to deliver on our mission to alleviate pain and improve the quality of life for people around the world.”
