WARSAW — A fundraiser has been created to assist Drake Price’s family with funeral arrangements.
Drake, a 16-year-old high-schooler who was an honorary police officer with the Warsaw Police Department, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7.
In 2017, Drake was diagnosed with super mass craniopharyngioma and moyamoya disease.
Kimm Silveus, a family friend, established a GoFundMe page to financially assist Drake’s family with final expenses. As of noon Tuesday, Jan. 11, the GoFundMe has raised $1,800.
“Despite his many surgeries and hospital stays, Drake continued to inspire his community and those who stumbled upon his journey with an easy spirit and joy for each day,” reads the GoFundMe’s description. “Despite Drake’s diagnosis, his passing was sudden and very unexpected, leaving his family and our community in a state of shock. It is my hope that we may once again come together to bless this family in their deepest time of need and lighten their load in the days, weeks and months to come.”
Visitation for Drake is from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw. Drake’s funeral will be held at Warsaw Community Church, 1855 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw.
The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. with doors open for one hour prior to services. Burial will take place in Sweet Cemetery, near Albion.
