The January LEGO Challenge at Milford Public Library is to make a penguin. Send a picture to the email below to be considered for this month’s prize drawing.
The penguin can have a unique pose, a silly face, or anything else. Use your imagination. The staff is excited to see what you make.
After you’ve built your penguin, submit a photo to [email protected] by Jan. 24 for a chance to win a new LEGO kit. The winner will be picked by staff vote. No library card is needed. This challenge is for children ages 18 & under.
The Knitting Club meets every first and third Thursday of the month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the Teen Department of the library.
The Winter season is an excellent time to knit those warm and cozy items such as scarves, mittens, hats, etc. Even if you have never picked up a pair of knitting needles before, you are invited to join the group and learn. No library card or registration is needed, and feel free to invite a friend to join you.
Adult Reading Club
This year’s Adult Reading Club Theme is Oceans of Possibilities. The club is open to anyone 18 years of age and older.
When it’s cold outside, what better way to enjoy the warmth of your home than to sit down and read or listen to a good book. It’s as simple as that to join the Reading Club, and it’s free to participate. For every book or ebook read or audiobook you listen to, you can put your name into a weekly drawing to receive a prize.
The books can be from the library or ones you have purchased privately, but we suggest that you try and read materials that are new to you.
Weather Delays and Closings
Now that it’s well into the winter season, should the library need to open late or close early or all day due to inclement weather, it will be posted on the library doors, Facebook page and announced on local television channels.
The library strives to keep its doors open during normal business hours and only closes when it is deemed unsafe for patrons and staff to travel because of dangerous weather conditions. If the library should need to be closed, any material due back during the closing will be given an extended due date.
