Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 4:38 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, CR 800W, south of CR 750N near Etna Green. Driver: Lucia Gallegos Patino, 30, North Johnson Street, Warsaw. Driver hit a slick spot, left the road and hit a fence. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, CR 900N, east of CR 700W near Nappanee. Driver: Brook Johnson, 26, CR 225N, Etna Green. Driver tried to avoid a pile of snow. left the road and hit a fence. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 1:58 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, East CR 400S, north of Packerton Road, near Warsaw. Driver: Trenton Witmer, 28, North Mill Street, North Manchester. Vehicle slide through the intersection and into a ditch. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 1:26 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, North CR 1000W near Nappanee. Driver: Bandt Carrico, 19, Juniper Road, Lakeville. Driver left road and hit a utility pole. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Claypool
Officers with the Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 3:38 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, SR 15S and Union Street in Claypool. Driver: Melanie Woodruff, 27, West Sixth St., Peru. Driver lost control in snowy conditions, left the road and struck a fence. Damage: Up to $1,000.
Mentone
Officers with the Mentone Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, SR 19, south of CR 250N near Mentone. Driver: Ty Haddan, 19, 210 S. Main St., Etna Green. Driver slid off the road and hit a pole. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Silver Lake
Officers with the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 2:23 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, SR 15 and CR 800S near Silver Lake, a three-vehicle accident occurred due to slick road conditions. Drivers: Ashton Lupa-Reecer, 27, Sunset Drive, Coloma, Mich.; Mathew Pifer, 45, 13325 Trailwood Drive, Fishers; and Charles Applegate, 59, West CR 558N, Huntington. Lupa-Reecer’s vehicle slide through an intersection and struck a vehicle driven by Pifer. Pifer’s vehicle then struck a pole. Applegate’s vehicle then collided with Lupa-Reecer’s vehicle. Damages: Up to $50,000. Pifer complained of shoulder pain.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 8:01 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 on Syracuse Webster Road, east of Chicago Street in Syracuse. Drivers: Hunter Miller, 16, CR 900W, Pierceton; and Miguel Rodriguez, 38, East Sunset Drive, Syracuse. Miller said he fell asleep upon approaching the intersection and crashed into the other vehicle. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, on East Market Street and Argonne Road in Warsaw. Driver: Tommy Meade, 66, Clinic Street, Warsaw. Heading up the incline on Argonne was impossible because of slick conditions for the driver who then hit a parked vehicle while backing down the hill. The parked vehicle was registered to Florisela Araujo, of Market Street, Warsaw. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, Ranch Road near Baker Street in Warsaw. Driver: Carl May, 57, Falcon Driver, Warsaw. Driver attempted to avoid a truck that was “fish tailing,” left the road and struck a pole. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 2:39 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the intersection of East Sheridan and North Bronson streets in Warsaw. Driver: Katherine Valdes, 64, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Driver slide through an intersection and hit a utility pole. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 9:58 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, Jalynn Street and Walton Boulevard in Warsaw. Drivers: Jordyn Truex, 18, 100 block of Downy Drive, Warsaw; and Jonathan Harney, 48, 3100 block of East Wooster Road, No. 60, Pierceton. Truex was traveling on Walton Boulevard and started making a turn when he was struck by the other vehicle. Harney was taken to a hospital for overall body pain. Damage: Up to $25,000.
- 11:10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2600 block of East Jefferson Street, Warsaw. Driver: Erik Jarvis, 35, 3200 block of Old Colony Road, Warsaw. Brakes failed and the motorist turned into a parking lot and then collided with a parked vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 2:37 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, East CR 100N and CR 225E. Driver: Ryan Coble, 35, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Coble could not negotiate a curve in the road in snow-covered conditions. His vehicle struck a pole. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, US 33 south of CR 33. Driver: Kimberlym Barrera Cruz, 21, Ligonier. Cruz complained of ankle pain and was taken to Goshen Hospital. Cruz was traveling too fast for weather conditions. Her vehicle went off the road and struck a tree.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:51 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, Liberty Avenue, Fulton. Drivers: Teresa L. Tolle, 56, Fulton; and Mindy A. Pierce, 47, Macy. Tolle’s vehicle collided with Pierce’s vehicle.
- 4:27 p.m. Dec. 28, US 31 and SR 25. Drivers; Giselle C. Rodriguez, 33, Indianapolis; and Timothy Hunter, 62, Mishawaka. A vehicle passed the Rodriguez and Hunter vehicles, causing them to slide off the road..
- 3:33 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, US 31 and CR 700N, Rochester. Drivers: Jordan A. Cureton, 37, Elwood; and Jeff L. Coby, 46, Culver. Cureton’s vehicle collided with Coby’s vehicle.
- 2:02 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, SR 14 and CR 200W, Rochester. Driver: Victoria L. Morrison, 28, Winamac. Morrison’s vehicle slid off the roadway.
