Debra K. Kemper
Debra K. “Deb” Kemper, 70, Syracuse, passed away at 4:51 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born Dec. 2, 1951 in Prestonsburg, Ky. to Woodrow and Anna Ray (Blair) Calhoun.
She graduated from Prestonsburg High School and got her L.P.N. degree from St. Joe Hospital Nursing School in Fort Wayne. She was married on June 1, 1988, in Sevierville, Tenn. to Richard J. “Dick” Kemper who survives. She grew up in Prestonsburg and moved to the Warsaw and North Webster area in 1968. She retired from Home Health Care in Warsaw, worked as an L.P.N. at various local nursing homes, and at an ear, nose, and throat clinic in Warsaw.
She was a member of the North Webster Church of God, formerly attended the North Webster United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Nurses Association.
She is survived by her husband, Dick Kemper of Syracuse; sons: Craig (Christi) Bevins of Warsaw and Kyle (Liz) Kemper of Goshen; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Theresa Wilson of Warsaw; sister-in-law, Tina Calhoun of Warsaw; brother-in-law, Craig Kemper of North Webster
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Martha “Pete” Prater and Barbara “Marty” Stewart, and brother, James Calhoun.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Memorial services will follow at 7 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating.
