Warsaw Schools Respond To Nationwide Threat Stemming From TikTok

WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools has responded to a nationwide threat posted to multiple social media outlets.
According to several state and national news agencies, a social media post is circulating nationwide, primarily on the video app TikTok, in which it alleges multiple planned school shootings will occur on Dec. 17.
“The Warsaw Police Department has worked with surrounding law enforcement agencies and has reported no known credible threat to Warsaw Community Schools,” read a press release from WCS. “School administration will continue to monitor the situation. Local law enforcement will increase their presence at Warsaw Community Schools for the remainder of the week.”
“This is an educational opportunity for parents across this nation to have a conversation with their children about the appropriate use of social media,” continues the press release. “Student and staff safety is the top priority for Warsaw Community Schools.
