Fire Damages Home North Of Mentone

BOURBON — A home north of Mentone was damaged in a fire on Saturday, Dec. 11.
Mentone Fire Chief Mike Yazel said the fire started in a boiler at the home at 1833 S. SR 19, Bourbon. Firefighters were called out about 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
The fire was under control by about 10 a.m. Yazel said there were no injuries.
Mentone Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Tippecanoe Township Fire Department of Marshall County and Four-Way Ambulance Services out of Mentone.
Yazel said he doesn’t believe the home is a total loss. According to Kosciusko County GIS, the home is owned by Patrick D. McCormick.
