Thelma Marie Scott
Thelma Marie Scott passed away at 12:39 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake, at the age of 91. She was a resident of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, had lived in Syracuse and Warsaw for many years prior.
She was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Bourbon, to Edith Scharelda (Marquart) Brock and Harley Arthur Brock. She was married on Feb. 25, 1950, to Merle J. Miller, they had three sons before he sadly passed away on Jan. 19, 1955. She was blessed to have met Charles B. Scott, and on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 1960, she celebrated by getting married to him. They spent the next 29 years sharing their lives until he passed away on Dec. 11, 1990.
Thelma had lived in Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 51 years. She worked as an assembler for many years at Da-Lite Screen in Warsaw and at Bourbon Orthopedics. She had an eye for detail and the patience for knitting and crocheting. Over the years many a loved one received a handmade gift from her. She loved being a mom and LOVED her role as Grandma. She loved to bake cookies for her grandchildren, and most of all she enjoyed visiting with friends and especially family. Thelma will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Kenny (Beverly) Miller, Warsaw; Allen (Bev) Miller, Columbia City; seventeen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Max Brock, Rushville; Rex (Vivian) Brock, Bourbon; and two sisters: Bonnie Brown, South Bend; Judy (Sidney) Bobb, Plainfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son, Russell James Miller, four sisters, and three brothers.
Visitation will be held from11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with her service to follow. Thelma’s life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. and officiated by Pastor Mike Hontz. Afterwards, a graveside service conducted by Dave Mitchell will take place at 3 p.m. at Bremen Cemetery in Bremen.
