Officers with the Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 10:12 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, West CR 700S, west of South CR 100W, Claypool. Driver: Andrew J. Miller, 31, Hemlock Lane, Warsaw. Miller was traveling west on CR 700S when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 11:52 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, North CR 100E, south of North River Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Erin B. Jungbauer, 58, EMS T27 Lane, Leesburg. Jungbauer was traveling north on North CR 100E when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
- 5:32 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, East US 30, south of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Drivers: Olivia J. Bloemendaal, 16, East Kenway Drive, Warsaw; and George R. Music, 50, West CR 100S, Warsaw. Bloemendaal was traveling south on South CR 325E and was crossing the intersection of East US 30 when she hit Music’s vehicle; Music was traveling east on US 30. Music’s vehicle rolled into a ditch. Bloemendaal complained of wrist and neck pain. Music complained of chest and head pain. Bloemendaal was taken to a local hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
- 12:38 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, North CR 300E, north of East CR 1300N, Syracuse. Drivers: Sheila J. Claassen, 50, EMS D5 Lane, Syracuse; and Rodney D. Grosser, 64, Eisenhower Drive, Elkhart. Grosser was traveling north on CR 300E and began to turn west without using a turn signal. As he did this, Claassen’s vehicle attempted to pass Grosser’s vehicle, resulting in a collision. Damage up to $25,000.
- 6:37 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, South SR 25, south of West CR 250S, Warsaw. Driver: Charles T. Brown, 31, East Water Street No. 12, Akron. Brown was traveling north on SR 25 when his vehicle slid and left the roadway, hitting a tree. Brown was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a minor head injury. Damage up to $10,000.
- 2:11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, South Main Street, west of West School Street, Leesburg. Drivers: Marcos M. Mejia, 22, East Lapoint Drive, Milford; and Louise M. Alkhafaji, 60, CR 22, Elkhart. Mejia was traveling south on South Main Street when he rear-ended Alkhafaji’s vehicle. This resulted in Alkhafaji’s vehicle flipping onto its passenger side. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 10:59 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, North CR 300E, near East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Driver: Drew D. Evans, 17, East Magill Court, Syracuse. Evans was traveling north on North CR 300E when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
- 6:49 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, North SR 13, north of East CR 1120N, Syracuse. Driver: Roger A. Kern, 72, CR 133, Syracuse. Kern was traveling north on North SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:22 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, East CR 600S, west of South SR 13, Warsaw. Driver: Cari M. Seeley, 52, West Grimme Lane, Claypool. Seeley was traveling east on East CR 600S when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
- 7:16 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, West CR 900S, near South CR 825W, Warsaw. Driver: Colton J. Francis, 26, South Nellie Boulevard, Claypool. Francis was traveling west on CR 900S when his vehicle hit an icy patch on the roadway. His vehicle slid into a ditch and hit a phone box. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:58 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, East US 30, near East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Drivers: David A. Gerber, 45, East CR 1000N, Decatur; and Susan J. Degenkolb, 63, Lexington Drive, Winona Lake. Gerber was traveling north on Van Ness Road and was turning west onto US 30 when the trailer of his vehicle hit Degenkolb’s vehicle. Degenkolb’s vehicle was stopped in the crossover on US 30. Degenkolb was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for abdominal and pelvic pain. A passenger in her vehicle, Carlos Stinfer, 58, Pierceton, also was taken to KCH for hip and upper leg pain. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 3:27 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, South Columbia Street, near West Jefferson Street, Warsaw. Driver: Scott D. Bianchini, 60, East Oak Lane, Warsaw. Bianchini was traveling north on South Columbia Street and attempted to go under a viaduct. When he realized his vehicle wouldn’t fit underneath it, Bianchini backed his vehicle and attempted to turn onto West Jefferson Street. As he did so, he hit a utility pole and stop sign. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
- 1:47 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, SR 25, south of South Union Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Evelyn C. Beer, 77, US 6, New Paris; and Cameron G. Rosen, 44, North CR 900W, Andrews. Beer was traveling north on Union Street and entered an intersection to proceed north on Union Street when she hit Rosen’s vehicle. Vehicles traveling north on Union Street at the intersection can only turn right. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 12:56 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, SR 15, north of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: unknown; and Wanda J. Hawkins, 64, South County Farm Road, Warsaw. Hawkins was traveling north on SR 15 when she was rear-ended by a gray pickup truck. The truck driver left the scene. Damage up to $2,500.
- 12:21 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 1200 Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. Anita D. Bolinger, Claypool, said her vehicle was parked when it sustained damage. The driver who caused the damage left the scene. Damage up to $2,500.
