Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, East CR 1250N, east of North CR 825E, Syracuse. Driver: Kimberly J. Hensel, 35, North Pied Piper Parkway, Cromwell. Hensel was traveling eastbound on East CR 1250N, Syracuse, when a deer collided with her vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, North CR 100E, south of East CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Treesa R. Metz, 26, Yvonna Street, Leesburg; and Joel R. Cervantes, 56, Glad Street, Warsaw. Metz and Cervantes were traveling northbound on North CR 100E at the intersection of East CR 350N, Warsaw. Metz said her tires were bald and as she attempted to apply the vehicle’s brakes, her vehicle slid into Cervantes’. Both drivers complained of shoulder pain. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 3:34 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2101 Dubois Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: John K. Lenio, 50, Fourth Street, Burlington, N.C.; and Marina A. Sanchez, 23, North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Lenio’s and Sanchez’s vehicles collided. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 12:58 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, Kings Highway and Maple Street, Winona Lake. Drivers: Jovan L. Mora-Bowdler, 22, South Troon Road, Winona Lake; and Blake A. Burns, 19, Hawthorne Court, Winona Lake. Mora-Bowdler was traveling southbound on Kings Highway and saw Burns’ vehicle stopped at the intersection of Maple Street to turn left. Mora-Bowdler said he thought he hit his brake pedal, but ending up hitting the accelerator. His vehicle hit Burns’. Damage: Up to $10,000.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 8:42 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, US 33 and CR 146, south of Goshen. Driver: Ruth Berry, 87, Cromwell. Berry lost control of her vehicle and went off the roadway, rolling over, coming to stop on its hood. Berry was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
- 11:36 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, CR 38, east of CR 21. Drivers: Jasmine Davidson, 23, Goshen; Elvia Reina, 54, Goshen; and Rafailito Hernandez, 43, Milford. Davidson’s vehicle struck the back of the Reina vehicle, which in turn hit the Hernandez vehicle. Davidson complained of pain to her legs and was taken to Goshen Hospital. Davidson was cited for following too closely.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 7:33 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, SR 19 and CR 100N, Akron. Driver: Aiden J. Reese, 17, Akron. Reese’s vehicle went off the road into a field.
- 5:04 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, SR 25 and CR 775N, Rochester. Driver: Abigail S. Glasson, 40, Rochester. Glasson’s vehicle slid on an icy covered roadway and went off the road.
- 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, SR 17 and CR 600N, Rochester. Driver: Heather L. Hulmes, 52, Winamac. Hulmes’ vehicle went off the roadway and into a ditch.
- 8:47 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, SR 25, Rochester. Driver: Christian R. Nine, 23, Rochester. Nine’s vehicle went off the road and flipped.
- 5:55 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, SR 19, Akron. Driver: Brent D. Herendeen, 48, Mentone. Hit deer.
- 5:06 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, Olson Road and Old US 31, Rochester. Driver: Shane W. Simons, 49 Rochester. Hit deer.
