South Bend Man Arrested In Domestic Incident
Staff Report
WARSAW — A South Bend man was recently arrested after allegedly punching a woman four times.
La Ronn Eugene Williams, 47, 936 S. Lombardy Drive, South Bend, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony.
On Oct. 21, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a domestic battery report. Dispatch said the suspect, later identified as Williams, had already left the area.
Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a woman about what occurred. According to court documents, the woman said Williams showed up at her home uninvited; he began to honk a vehicle’s horn outside of the home.
The woman told the officer she didn’t want to cause issues with the neighbors and went to confront Williams. When she told Williams to leave, the two began arguing. As the woman began to leave, Williams got out of his vehicle and began following her.
While she was walking, Williams allegedly pinned the woman against a door while he punched her in the head. The woman said Williams punched her four times, then stopped and left the scene.
She showed the officer two raised spots on her head, and an area behind her ear that was visibly swollen. A witness at the scene said they could hear the woman screaming during the incident.
Williams was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 5, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
