Purdue 28, Nebraska 23
The Boilers held on to win a key Big Ten West matchup in Lincoln.
Purdue welcomed back running back and Marian alum Zander Horvath, who had a touchdown run. Aidan O’Connell added 233 yards through the air and two scores as Purdue sits in a tie with two others one game back of the division lead.
Maryland 38, Indiana 35
The Terrapins handed the Hoosiers its fourth straight loss in College Park.
Taulia Tagovailoa had a monster game for Maryland, throwing for 419 yards and two touchdowns. Carlos Carriere had eight catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns for the hosts. Indiana had Peyton Hendershot lead the offense with six catches for 106 yards and two Hoosier touchdowns. Stephen Carr added 136 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the loss.
Notre Dame 44, North Carolina 34
Notre Dame pulled away in the fourth quarter to escape an upset bid by North Carolina Saturday night at Notre Dame Stadium.
After the Tar Heels pulled within four at 31-27 at the end of the third, Notre Dame countered with 10 straight points, led by a 91-yard touchdown burst from Kyren Williams, who had 22 carries for 202 yards. Jack Coan also threw for 213 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for another for the Irish.
Missouri 37, Vanderbilt 28
Tyler Badie’s huge rushing day led the Tigers to a win in Nashville.
Badie ripped off 254 yards on the ground and had 40 more receiving yards and two total touchdowns to lead Missouri. Harrison Mevis was on point for the Tigers, hitting all three of his field goals from 32, 46 and 52 yards and nailed all four of his extra point tries.
West Virginia 38, Iowa State 31
The Mountaineers knocked off the No. 22-ranked Cyclones Saturday in Morgantown.
The hosts scored 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pull the upset. Breece Hall had 167 yards on the ground and a score for the Cyclones, and Andrew Mevis hit all five of his scoring kicks, 4-4 on extra points and a 34-yard field goal.
