Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 7:56 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, West Crystal Lake Road, west of South CR 400W, Warsaw. Driver: Kaitlin R. Neese, 19, West CR 100S, Warsaw. Neese was traveling eastbound on Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw, when her vehicle collided with a deer. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 6:37 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, West US 30 and North CR 875W, Etna Green. Driver: Rebekkah E. Verdeyen, 35, Smytheham Lane, Mishawaka. Verdeyen was traveling eastbound on US 30 at CR 875W, when her vehicle collided with a deer. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 3:52 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, North SR 15, north of West CR 1000N, Milford. Driver: Erin M. Feldman, 44, North SR 19, Etna Green. Feldman was traveling northbound on SR 15, Milford, when a deer collided with her vehicle. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 6:36 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, North First Street, south of East US 30. Drivers: Jacob M. Tolson, 26, West Market Street, Pierceton; and Hunter A. Smalley, 22, EMS T15 Lane, Leesburg. Tolson said Smalley had his left turn signal on to turn west onto US 30. He thought it was OK to pass him on the right. He said Smalley’s vehicle pulled into his vehicle’s path, turning right in front of him. Smalley said he turned his right turn signal on to turn into the gas station. He said Tolson’s vehicle attempted to pass his on the right and that Tolson’s vehicle hit his as he was turning. Video from the gas station shows that Smalley had his right turn signal on. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 9:40 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, West CR 400N, west of North CR 800W, Warsaw. Drivers: Ashley L. Hackworth, 34, North CR 1100W, Etna Green; and Tessa G. Lawson, 20, Woodview Drive, Elkhart. Hackworth was traveling westbound on West CR 400N at the intersection of North CR 800W, Warsaw. Her vehicle disregarded the stop sign at the intersection and hit Lawson’s vehicle. Hackworth’s vehicle rolled after the collision. Damage: Up to $25,000.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 7:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, US 30 E, east of Arnolt Drive, Pierceton. Driver: Alexis V. Vanderweele, 21, Filbert Road, Tippecanoe. Vanderweele was traveling eastbound on US 30, Pierceton, when her vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, Old Road 30, Pierceton. Driver: Sharon A. Briggs, 63, North Walker Drive, Columbia City. Briggs was traveling westbound on Old Road 30 when a deer collided with her vehicle. Damage: Up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 7:41 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, West Center Street and North Columbia Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Corey M. Palmer, 41, Buck Trail, Warsaw; and Philena M. Evett, 18, East Main Street, Warsaw. Palmer’s and Evett’s vehicles collided. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, East Prairie Street, north of South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Linda L. Hensley, 69, East Ridge Drive, Warsaw; and Barnabas C. Brown, 29, South Packerton Road, Warsaw. Hensley was traveling northbound on South Buffalo Street just south of the intersection with East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. She said she was traveling behind Brown’s vehicle. Traffic was stopping and starting. Hensley said Brown’s vehicle stopped in traffic and she was unable to stop in time. Her vehicle hit Brown’s. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, Dubois Drive, west of Parker Street, Warsaw. Driver: Jerry L. Miller, 68, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Miller said as he turned west on Dubois Street from Parker Street, Warsaw, his arm got stuck in the wheel. That caused him to drive off the road and for his vehicle to hit a fire hydrant. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 11:47 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, South Indiana Street and East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Maria G. Perez, 22, Logan Street, Warsaw; and Wendy S. Fennell, 56, West Center Street, Warsaw. Perez’s and Fennell’s vehicles collided. Damage: Up to $10,000.
