NORTH WEBSTER — Dr. Charles (Chuck) Hassel was recently recognized and awarded the Legion of Honor by Lakeland Kiwanis Club and Kiwanis International for his 54 years of service to helping kids, the community and the world to be a better place.
Hassel was invited to join Kiwanis in 1967 in his hometown of Bremen and has been a member ever since. He served in the U.S. Air Force and then settled in Bremen running a successful dentist practice until he retired. He has served as president of the Bremen Kiwanis Club, Lt. Governor of the Land of Lakes Division and he has helped serve kids locally, in his community, and kids for Riley Hospital and around the world.
Hassel and his wife now reside in the North Webster community and are still active in making a difference in the lives of kids and community. An example is they deliver Meals On Wheels to those in need around the community of North Webster.
