Cardinal Services Holds Annual ‘Cardinal Call’ Fundraiser
Press Release
WARSAW — Cardinal Services’ annual fundraiser “A Cardinal Call” marked its 16th year on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
Over 500 guests tuned in to watch the 34-minute virtual presentation that included messages from Cardinal Board Chair Angie Ritchey; Executive Director Matt Boren; Head Start parent Mylisha Bennett; Adult Services parent Mary Kay Kinsella and her daughter Liz; volunteer Jennifer Lancaster; and Ivy Tech Vice Chancellor Allyn Decker.
The theme to this year’s Call was “CommUNITY” and speakers emphasized the valuable role community plays in the life of the organization, from financial support to embracing roles that help the people served by Cardinal to live their best lives. This may be by employing a person with a disability, tutoring a person to read, driving them to church, or visiting with them over coffee.
Bennett spoke about the impact Head Start has had not only on her children but on her own goals and aspirations, while Kinsella shared how her daughter has found her own place in the world with Cardinal. Boren emphasized that neither of these tales of success nor any of the other stories throughout Cardinal, are possible without the greater community.
