Wade E. Stephenson
ROCHESTER — Wade E. Stephenson, 75, Rochester passed away at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021 at his residence.
On Nov. 29, 1945, Wade Emerson was born in La Harpe, Ill., to Coen and Marie Carwile Stephenson. In 1964 he graduated from Milford High School. Answering the call of patriotism, Stephenson served with the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1970.
With a strong work ethic, Stephenson worked in the orthopedic industry for 34 years in the tool and die department. He was a member of the advisory board of the Fulton County Horse and Pony Club and worked to help improve the equestrian center. Wade was a member of the “Old Geezer, ” Coffee Group that met daily at 3 p.m. at Rochester’s Pilot.
To relax Stephenson and his wife, Linda, took their family camping. They all enjoyed trail riding with their Quarter horses. Their favorite destinations were the state parks at Brown County, Francis Slocum and Winamac. Cooper was Wade’s loyal equine always ready to hit the trail. He also enjoyed the game of golf at Rochester’s Mill Creek, his favorite course.
Left to cherish his memory are his companion of 34 years, Linda Herendeen; five children: Amy Cisne and husband Daniel, Curt Davis and wife Sandy, Jason Stephenson, Christine Raypholtz and companion Larry Fisher, Leslie Crissinger and husband Michael; grandchildren: Olivia Cisne, Adreana Cisne, Noah Davis, Joseph Davis, Hannah Davis, Ben Davis, Helen Stephenson, Nathanial Stephenson. Kimberly Raypholtz and fiancé Cameron Phillips, Hailey Crissinger, Austin Crissinger; great-granddaughter, Willow May Phillips; and feline companion Zoom, a gray and white domestic long hair.
Preceding Stephenson in death are his parents; brothers: Ed, Don and his twin Warren; son Craig Davis; and granddaughter Madaline Stephenson.
A celebration of the life of Wade E. Stephenson was Monday, Oct. 4, 2021 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.Military honors were conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the Army Honors Team.
