One Taken To Hospital After Old Road 30 Vehicle Accident

ETNA GREEN — A Warsaw man was taken to a local hospital for head pain after a two-vehicle accident just outside of Atwood on Monday.
At 6:27 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident involving a passenger car and UPS truck.
Pranesh R. Devaraj, 27, Warsaw, was operating a 2015 Subaru Legacy at the time. Devaraj told officers he was unsure how the accident occurred and that he blacked out.
Derek C. Gross, 40, Warsaw, was driving a UPS truck west on West Old Road 30. When he entered the intersection at North CR 800W, Etna Green, Devaraj’s vehicle entered the roadway from the north directly in front of him.
Devaraj’s vehicle spun out and came to a stop in a ditch on the south side of the road. Gross’s vehicle also entered a ditch and came to a stop at a railroad embankment.
Devaraj was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for head pain. Gross refused medical treatment at the scene.
Responding agencies at the scene include Etna Township Fire Department, Etna Township First Responders, Atwood Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and Indiana State Police.
Damages are estimated at up to $25,000.
