Syracuse Public Library Book Sale Oct. 16
News Release
SYRACUSE—The Friends of the Syracuse Public Library will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, to discuss its bag of books sale, slated from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, in the library’s meeting room.
The sale will feature numerous antique books, which will be specially priced. Attendees can also purchase Friends of the Library bags to stuff for only $5; the antique books are excluded from the stuff-a-bag deal.
The bag of books sale is one way the Friends group raises money to support the library and its services and programs. The group always meets at 11 a.m. the first Thursday of the month unless otherwise noted. Since the meeting is before the library officially opens, knock on the Harrison Street door to enter.
Teen Gaming
Teens are invited to attend a gaming session at the Syracuse Public Library from 4-7 p.m. every first Thursday of each month. October’s meeting will be Oct. 7. Come hang out and play games on the library’s Nintendo Switch.
October Book Club Pick
The library has several copies of October’s book club choice, “Outfoxed” by David Rosenfelt. It is a part of the popular Andy Carpenter mystery series, but there is no need to have read previous books. In “Outfoxed,” Carpenter must solve the riddle of why and how a convicted fraud escaped from prison with his adopted dog. The discussion times are at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, on Zoom and at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21.
