WARSAW – The board of directors of the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts has announced Lakesha Green, of Syracuse, N.Y., as the next Executive Director of the umbrella arts organization.
Green was selected as the top candidate from more than 40 applications received for the position.
“We are pleased and excited at the prospect of working with someone with so many proven skills and track record in arts administration,” said Terry White, chair of the Wagon Wheel board. Board members Emily Illingworth Kosnik and Joni Truex chaired the search committee, along with other members of the search committee and executive committee.
Most recently Lakesha Green has been Director of Youth Programs Coordinator at the Redhouse Arts Center in Syracuse, New York, where she worked with community groups, school districts, and other nonprofit organizations to build community engagement and audience development for Redhouse.

Green, who holds a B.A. in Theater Arts from Alabama State University and an MFA in Media and Performing Arts from The Savannah College of Art and Design, will be moving to the Warsaw/Winona Lake area in October to establish residence and to begin forming relationships in the community.
Regarding the opportunity, Green said, “I’m beyond excited to continue a rich legacy that will continue to inspire and create experiences for years to come. I’ve traveled all over this country and I must say that Warsaw is definitely a gem in the ocean. I look forward to being a part of this rich community.”
