In a matchup of potential sectional foes, NorthWood took command early and made quick work of the Vikings in a 25-11, 25-11, 25-8 result Monday in Nappanee.
The Panthers, which have won 17 of its last 18 matches, had Sophia Barber and Hannah Chupp combined for 19 kills, Macy Lengacher and Annika Bennett tie with 14 digs each along with 31 combined assists, Annika Bennett and Karis Bennett add 10 aces, and the duo of Claire Payne and Chupp with six total blocks.
In the JV game, NorthWood also won in commanding fashion by a 25-6, 25-13 count.
Pacing the Panthers were Emery Porter with 19 assists and nine digs, Tatum Evers with seven kills and Jenna Householter with 11 digs.
Valley did not provide its stats.
Wawasee JV 3, Clinton Christian 1
Wawasee’s JV squad was put to the test, but passed with a 25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 25-15 final over visiting Clinton Christian Monday evening.
Julie Mishler and Alli McClintic combined for 26 kills, 19 digs and four aces for the Warriors, which also had 25 assists, seven digs and four aces from Emma Young and 16 digs and six aces from Kenzie Hackleman.

Wawasee’s junior circuit also got in some work and won handily 25-4, 25-9.
Hannah Truex, Natalia Pizana and Addie Beasley combined for 14 aces, Pizana added eight assists, and Kenzie Hackleman had four kills.
