Ray O. Skelton
SYRACUSE – Ray O. Skelton, 84, of Syracuse, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at his home. He was born on Nov. 30, 1936, in Goshen, to James & Ann (Stringle) Skelton.
He graduated from Goshen High School, attended Goshen College, and was a United States Army veteran. He was a lifetime Goshen-Syracuse area resident and was married on Dec. 23, 1966, in Goshen to Loretta Keifer who preceded him on May 16, 2021. He retired in 1999 from Syracuse Rubber Company after 43 years as an engineer.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse.
He is survived by five daughters, Cheryl (Rick) Bauman of Elkhart, Brenda (Roger) Baumgartner of New Paris, Rebecca (Kevin) Enyeart of North Webster, Melanie (Terry) Green of Syracuse, Stephanie Skelton of Syracuse; a son, Ray J. Skelton of North Webster; a stepson, Steve Stoner of Marcellus, Mich.; 13 Grand and 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura Druckamiller, of Warsaw; a brother, George (Noreen) Skelton, of Goshen
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Vicky Skelton, and brother, Floyd Skelton.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. A private family Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
