In honor of Library Card Sign-up Month, the Syracuse Public Library is holding a bingo raffle, where the winner will receive a Bluetooth speaker. Bingo cards can be picked up at the library or downloaded from Facebook. The cards feature library-themed actions to be completed in each square, such as join a book club, post a selfie with your library card, borrow a graphic novel and so on.
When a bingo is achieved, send the completed card to the library on social media or return the paper bingo card to the ballot box located upstairs at the library. This raffle concludes Thursday, Sept. 30.
Children’s Department Offers New Crafts
Take-and-make crafts for children are back at the Syracuse Public Library and change each week. Follow the library’s social media accounts to see what the latest craft will be. These kits can be picked up at the children’s desk, or patrons can request they be placed in an anytime pickup locker.
Both the homeschool program and story time continue as well. Both programs are at 10:30 a.m. every Friday. The homeschool program will feature a special guest Sept. 24, with Terry Trimmer coming to do a special presentation on the American Revolutionary War. Meanwhile, story time is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers and features great stories and play.
Digital Book Discussion
If you missed the in-person discussion of “Looking for Alaska” Thursday, Sept. 16, contact Becky Brower at [email protected] for an invite to the Zoom discussion at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21. The book was selected in honor of Banned Books Week, Sept. 26-Oct. 2.
