Roald Dahl Day Is Monday At Milford Public Library

Roald Dahl Day will be celebrated at Milford Public Library on Sept. 13. Roald Dahl is the author of famous children’s books such as; Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, BFG and many more. He was born on Sept. 13, 1916, and has he that day dedicated to him. Haven’t discovered his books, want to revisit the tales, or learn a little more about this beloved author, visit the library today. The library has a display in the children’s department with many of his works including books, audiobooks and movies adapted from his writing.
Sign Up For Fall Story Time (VIRTUAL) On Sept. 17
Sign up for the FREE fall storytime (for ages 3-6) at the children’s circulation desk. Join Miss Trisha and read stories, make a craft, and have a snack together on ZOOM. The schedule for storytime is posted throughout the library and on entrance doors. No library card is needed.

- Storytime begins Sept. 29.
- Wednesday’s at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom.
- Will run for eight weeks.
- Pick up craft packets starting Monday for that week’s theme.
Donations For Halloween
Halloween is creeping up fast. As the library is planning participation in local Halloween activities, will now be accepting donations. The library is accepting full-sized candy and monetary donations to be used for treats. Donations can be dropped off at the adult circulation desk. The library thanks you in advance for the donations and generosity.
Lego Crew Challenge
Milford Public Library is challenging the crew to build a maze. Lego crew is still being done remotely so the crew will make the builds at home and then submit a photo of the finished project to [email protected] by 8 p.m. on Sept. 26th. Staff will then vote for the winning submission and the winner will receive a new lego kit. No library card is needed. For ages 18 & under.
Free Book Tote With New Library Card During September
September is national library card sign-up month. To celebrate, the library is giving away a free book tote to everyone who registers for a new library card. Application for library cards are processed at the adult circulation desk.
Requirements for a library card:
- Must be 6 yrs. old or older.
- Resident of VanBuren or East Jefferson Township.
- Have photo ID and a piece of mail with your current address.
- Minors (under 18) need a legal guardian’s signature and photo ID.
