The Tigers picked up a key road win in the Northern Lakes Conference race Tuesday in Middlebury.
In the 25-17, 25-15, 25-21 victory, Warsaw hung its collective hats on a host of different players making contributions. Four players finished with a team-high six kills in Melania Hawblitzel, Abby Sanner, Avery Hales and Alli Heinrich. All four, plus Madi Desenberg and Leah Henderson all had a block, Hawblitzel added each of six aces and digs, Hales had 25 assists and seven digs, and Kylie Smith led the defense with 11 digs.
Warsaw’s JV won its matchup with the Raiders 25-20, 25-24. Daihya Chupp had 22 assists and Clara Porter had seven kills in the win.
The Tiger freshman team bested Ridge 25-10, 25-9. Allison Chapman, Emma VanPufelen and Maddie Hollon combined for nine kills and Eva Everest had 14 assists and three aces and Leila Knepp added seven aces.
Wawasee Freshmen 2, East Noble 0
Wawasee picked up its third win of the season in Syracuse behind the play of 12 combined aces from Stephanie Anacleto, Hannah Truex and Natalia Pizana. Abby Dusek and Pizana combined for 10 assists and the duo of Kenzie Hackleman and Addie Beasley sent down seven kills.
