Tippecanoe Valley 45, Peru 9
Valley moved to 2-0 in the Three Rivers Conference with a resounding road win Friday night.
The Vikings had 210 yards rushing and another 139 through the air, using a big third quarter to break away from the Tigers. Jamasyn Virgil scored on touchdown runs of 3, 2, 68 and 10 yards while totaling 119 yards overall. Hunter Eherenman added 31 yards and a score and Branson McBrier added a 34-yard touchdown pass to Rex Kirchenstien in the rout.
Peru did manage a safety to start the game, but committed four turnovers and was held to just 145 yards by the Vikings defense, which has allowed just 29 points in its first three weeks.
Tippecanoe Valley (3-0) will host Manchester next week.
Northridge 42, Wawasee 0
It was all Northridge in the Northern Lakes Conference opener for both clubs in Middlebury.
The Raiders, coached by former Wawasee standout Chad Eppley, scored on its first five possessions of the first half. Tagg Gott had a pair of touchdown runs, Peyton Shook and Kain Holderread each scored on short runs, and Micah Hochstetler hit Jethro Hochstetler in stride for a 33-yard touchdown pass.
Holderread added another rushing score in the third quarter to cap the Raider claims.
Ridge (3-0, 1-0 NLC) outgained Wawasee 361-87, 277 of that on the ground to just 31 yards for the Warriors on 19 carries.
Cam Zimmerman had nine carries for 23 yards for the Warriors and Jaxon Brown had 56 yards passing.
Wawasee (0-3, 0-1 NLC) hosts Concord next Friday.
