Columbia City 4, Tippecanoe Valley 1
In a matchup of potential sectional foes, City gained the upper hand in Akron.
The lone Valley court was at one doubles, with Annikan Pettit and Cooper Walls taking care of Peyton Pope and Ben Kuhmichael 7-6 (4), 4-6, 10-5.
Alexander Rongos beat Dylan Neese 6-4, 6-0, Toby Krider beat Cam Manuel 6-2, 6-2, and Noah Finefrock beat Wyatt Reiter 6-1, 6-0. In doubles play, Jaxon Crawford and Rhett Wilson shut out Brady Minix and Tristyn Ragon.
Valley lost all three JV courts.
West Noble 3, Wawasee 2
West Noble claimed both doubles courts to hand Wawasee its first loss of the season in Ligonier.
Brayden Bohde and Nevin Phares got past Blaine Baut and Grant Brooks 6-4, 6-2, and JJ Jacobs and Wes Shaw outlasted Devon Kuhn and Ty Brooks 7-5, 6-4 to close out the win. At three singles, the Chargers’ Luke Schermerhorn topped Zeke Keim 7-5, 6-1.
Wawasee got wins from Holden Babb, three and two, over Chris Miller, and Joey Harper, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, against Nate Shaw.
Wawasee went 6-1 on the JV slate.
Concord 3, NorthWood 2
Concord slipped by NorthWood to hand the Panthers its first loss in the Northern Lakes Conference.
NorthWood had wins from its one doubles team of Chaz Yoder and Brady Chupp, four and three, over Thomas Burkert and Ethan Kavanagh, and from Wes Steiner at three singles, four and one, over Avery Johnson.
Concord countered with Nathan Schraw, one and love, over Charles Anderson, and Mitchell Whitehead, two and two, against Isaac Roberts. At two doubles, Andrew Kavanagh and Sam West beat Nic Anderson and Karson Kirby one and three.
NorthWood won both JV courts.
