Indiana Wines Featured At ACT Nappanee-Wakarusa Event Tomorrow
Press Release
NAPPANEE — A wine tasting event will be held near downtown Nappanee from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26.
The event is open to the public, ages 21 and over. Pre-registration is required by calling (574) 773-3367. The suggested donation is $5.
Winemaking in Indiana has a long history, and ACT Nappanee-Wakarusa has invited the president of the Indiana Winery and Vineyard Association, winemaker Shane Christ of Satek Winery, to speak about this important agritourism business and the grapes and increasingly fine wines produced in Indiana.
He will also be featuring four of his award-winning wines at a tasting, explaining the wine grape varieties used in each and his fermentation techniques.
Christ has been the winemaker at Satek Winery, Fremont, for 19 years. In that time, he has elevated the winery’s status as a producer of wines that consistently win awards at the Indy International Wine Competition. He is a graduate of Ball State University College of Business, and his winery industry experience includes working at vineyards and wineries in South America and New Zealand.
Featured wines at the tasting are Satek’s dry white wine, a dry rosé, a dry red wine and a dessert wine.
