NorthWood Takes Sixth At DeKalb Invite
NorthWood’s team finished sixth among eight teams at Saturday’s DeKalb Invite, getting one of its players into the winner’s bracket among match play.
Wes Steiner was the lone Panther to win his first match and work into the winner’s side, beating Angola 6-1, 7-6 (2). He would lose his next two matches to East Noble and Norwell to finish fourth.
The one doubles team of Brady Chupp and Chaz Yoder recovered from a first round loss to win its final two contests, losing to West Noble but beating Bellmont and Columbia City.
Charles Anderson and the two doubles team of Nic Anderson and Karson Kirby finished sixth and Issac Roberts took eighth.
Lewis Cass Wins Home Invite
The Kings of Lewis Cass swept its own tennis tournament, winning all five court championships. Tippecanoe Valley was among the competition in the brackets.
