Lowell Eugene Swick
Lowell Eugene Swick, 88, Pierceton, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, in Kosciusko Community Hospital. Born June 9, 1933, in Kosciusko County, Lowell was the son of Sherman and Viola (Young) Swick. He was united in marriage to Phyllis M. Heckaman on June 2, 1953, who preceded him in passing Nov. 23, 2012.
He graduated from Burket High School in 1951. He proudly served his country as a sergeant in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict. Lowell formerly was employed by Kimble Glass – Owens Illinois in Warsaw, Indiana. He enjoyed being a farmer, and was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion Post #49, and the National Horseshoe Pitch Association. Lowell attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Warsaw.
Lowell is survived by his children, Terry (Patty) Swick of Angola; Thomas (Sue) Swick of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; Debra (Mike) Archer of Vevay; and Donna (Tom) Balazs of Winona Lake. In addition, he is survived by 17 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by wife, Phyllis Swick, both parents, siblings, Delta Seely, Harry Swick, Wayne Swick, Claude Swick, Dean Swick, Evelyn Whiteman and Lois Boganwright.
A visitation is planned from 3-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service in celebration of his life will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, with a one hour viewing prior to the service in the funeral chapel. Pastor Carolyn Kern will be officiating the services. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton with military honors rendered by American Legion Post #49.
Masks are optional, and social distancing is encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
